Review: Our stay at the Avani Metropolis Auckland Residences

During our recent trip to Auckland, we stayed at the Avani Metropolis Auckland Residences. It was a service apartment located in downtown Auckland. I liked that the room was very spacious – there was a bedroom, a big living room and a kitchen. It’s a decent place to stay if you’re visiting Auckland for 1 – 2 days.

The Location

Avani Metropolis Auckland Residences is located in downtown Auckland – it’s a 10 minute walk from major restaurants and bars. One of the restaurants we visited – Ortolana – was really good. We had just flown in from Singapore the night before and were stopping by Auckland for just a day. Avani was pretty convenient – we got there by taking an airport bus and walked for about 10 minutes.

The Room

The room was pretty spacious and comfortable. I like that the living room was separated from the bedroom. It allows you room to read or watch TV while the other person is asleep. I also recalled falling into deep sleep that afternoon – possibly due to the lack of sleep we had on the plane the night before. It was autumn and the temperatures fell below 10 degrees celsius at night. Sleeping with the comforter was just nice.

The Travelling Squid’s Take

Avani Metropolis Auckland Residences made for a decent place to stay during our time here. It’s not as glamourous as a hotel, but I like that it was functional and decently comfortable for us to get some rest after a long flight.
